Great single estate tea
This single estate tea originates from the Hathikuli Tea Estate, with hathikuli meaning a place frequented by elephants. The tea yields a bold cup with distinct sweet maltiness, reminiscent of dates and honey. Characteristic of Assam teas, it holds up to the addition of milk well. In my opinion, this tea is the perfect way to begin the day. Located between Kaziranga National Park and the Karbi Anglong Hills, Hathikuli Tea Estate, owned by Tata Tea Ltd, has been transformed into an organic farm. This conversion aims to maintain ecological balance in a biodiversity hot spot and prevent further environmental degradation near the World Heritage Site.
